I Host five properties in Long Beach, California, The Home of several events for the upcoming LA Olympics in July 2028. I currently have my calendar blocked until I can get an understanding of how the rates should be set for that period. Will dynamic pricing be taking this event into account and when?

In theory, that would be picked up by the Dynamic Pricing algorithm and factored in. But it 680 days out from the LA Olympics, which is way early. I know that PriceLabs, by way of example, only pushes prices for 540 days out. So I might be a bit concerned about how much data would be available this far in advance. And if I was in your position, and considering opening up those dates, I would certainly crank up the “Far Future Pricing” in “Advanced settings” quite high for those dates. It is better to aim high and adjust down later than get yourself booked at a rate that you deem is too low.

Hi @suzanne

Yes, our dynamic pricing will pick up on the LA Olympics, but it's driven by market demand signals rather than the calendar. So you likely won't see a big lift right now. Rather expect adjustments to kick in as bookings, search demand, and comparable listings in Long Beach start reflecting the event (as Eli mentioned, typically closer to when travelers actually start booking, which for an event this big is usually 6–12 months out, sometimes earlier).

Eli shared great suggestions what you can already do in your Settings.
