Hello Property Managers 👋We’re exploring ways to make new client onboarding and new property onboarding easier for you, and we’d love to hear more about your current onboarding processes. Here are some questions to get us started, but you're welcome to weigh in with other details that you feel might be helpful. How do you seek new opportunities today? What must you know about a prospective owner upfront? What must you know about their property upfront? What about your current process do you love? What is the single most impactful question you ask your owners before committing to work with them? How long does it typically take to formalize a partnership, from the time you meet a new owner to the signing of an agreement? If you have any SOPs or onboarding forms you’re willing to share, we’d love to see them. You can attach them to your comment in this conversation or email them directly to me: emily.tunggala@hospitable.com. I’m looking forward to a fun discussion! 😁
I live in Toronto, Canada. In the Province of Ontario (our state equivalent), there is a governing body called the Travel Industry Council that requires anyone who is an accommodations booker (has their own website advertising and enabling travel booking) to register with them. Their goal is to ensure the travel booking public is not scammed by bad actors/operators (not a bad goal). The challenge for us is that their registration process is costly and onerous.Just to start, its a $3000 non-refundable payment simply to review the application. Then, a $10,000 surety will be held by them for up to 2 years to ensure good operations Trust accounting must be set up and the Travel Council must be set up for visibility on the accounts Other assorted requirements https://tico.ca/travel-professionals/registration-information/overview-requirements.htmlSince there are not as many robust channels for advertising direct bookings in Canada anyway, in concert with the rules above, this makes Direct
Great news! In addition to a list of awesome new features and improvements, we’ve added the ability to easily switch to annual billing on the Host, Professional and Mogul plans. So here’s the deal, if you know you are going to be on Hospitable a year from now, why not switch to annual and save 12% off your Hospitable expense? Here’s how it works: you pay up front for the number of listings you expect to have for 12 months, and that upfront payment gets you 12% off.If you add more listings, we’ll bill you for any overages at the regular rate.Drop some properties? We’ll automatically add account credits at the regular rate, so you save on your next invoice.Head to Settings and Your Plan page in Hospitable to see how much you could save.Save 12% with annual >Note for Legacy plan customers: an annual deal on Legacy is way too complicated due to the structure of the pricing e.g. the 1st property costs a different amount to the 10th, 30th etc.

I have recently moved from a cleaner I hired on Turno to one who I hired privately. My question is there an integrated app or way to have them be able to complete a checklist similar to what my previous cleaner was doing on Tunro. I am aware there is something you can build inside hospitable but my current understanding is the are unable to actually check things off or provide pictures or feedback. Thanks in advance. -Jay
We’re excited to bring you the next Insider session: Partner Edition with Arthur Colker, Founder and CEO of StayFi.StayFi is the leading provider of WiFi, marketing, and guest engagement tools for vacation rental operators. Used in more than 80,000 short-term rentals across 70+ countries, StayFi helps hosts increase profitability and guest loyalty by giving them access to something many OTAs keep out of reach: guest data.Arthur founded StayFi in 2018 to solve a core challenge in the industry: the lack of direct access to guest information. The company’s first product, branded WiFi, made it easy for operators to collect data from every guest in a booking, not just the person who made the reservation. Since then, StayFi has expanded into a suite of marketing and engagement solutions that help operators grow their direct bookings and strengthen guest relationships.Ask Arthur anything about WiFi, guest data, and the #BookDirect movement. How?Drop your questions in the comments anytime befor

Hey there,Would you be interested in joining a video call to chat about best practices for optimizing listings and revenue?I recently joined this community and thought it would be valuable to trade notes with others on the strategies you use to maximize revenue. I’m an owner (not a property manager, and not selling anything). My STRs are in the Outer Banks, NC, with one in Denver. I tend to outperform my competitors and use some creative approaches to boost revenue and ranking, but I always pick up new ideas from others. If you also feel like you’ve found effective strategies—and are open to learning and sharing “secrets”—I’d love to connect.Reply if you’re interested! I’m hoping to keep it to a small group (5–6 people max). All the best,Scott
I am looking to update the photos of a property in Melbourne Beach, Florida.Any recommendations would be appreciated. TY
I am looking for a robust scheduling app to use for mainly cleaning. Turno does not seem to be very smart when it comes to scheduling so I am looking for an alternative. What I am looking for is something that can manage many properties and be smart enough to know if a cleaner is already scheduled on that day so that it doesn’t schedule them for 2 same day cleanings at a minimum.Basically I want to assign a “Main” cleaner and if that one is busy it goes down a list of cleaners till it finds one to do that job. I want this to happen automatically and then alert the cleaner of the job with some way for them to look at a calendar to see their jobs and potentially decline it...then the system would assign the next cleaner on the list.Has anyone found something like this?
Hi all, I’ve recently purchased the lease of an existing listing, which is directly across the street from my current listing in Houston, which has performed really well over the past year. The model, layout and amenities for the two listings are very similar, and they both performed similarly last year from a revenue and occupancy perspective. Does anyone have a similar scenario? If so, what efforts have you undertaken to ‘Co-Market’ the listings. Both listings sleep 12, so I’m hoping to leverage opportunities for groups larger than 12 to potentially offer a discount for booking both listings. Thx!
I’m co-hosting a new property that will be putting exterior cameras up soon. How can I let upcoming bookings know? I will go in and add cameras to the listing, but wondered how to tell guests. Thanks!
We are considering managing STR properties for other owners in the San Antonio, Texas area.So far we’ve only managed our own properties, so we want to make sure we’re not in over our head with expanding in terms of needing the proper licensing. I know licensing can depend on state and location, but I’m curious to hear other people’s recommendations and experience with setting things up in the best manner.
I had a conversation with a travel agent today (friend of a friend). They asked for me to send my info to them in case they had anyone. This led me to begin thinking about outreach to other agents to see if my property would interest them for future guests. Does anyone have experience with this? How do you handle this? Discounts, referral codes, etc.
We’ve heard that it’s traditionally been a hotel-focused conference in the past, but that they’re increasing their Short-term rental content.I’ll be going to scope out for potential future even sponsorship there, and would love to catch up with any Hospitable Hosts that are attending! Let me know :) The conference: https://www.terrapinn.com/exhibition/novacancy/index.stm
How do you find your property on agoda? When I try to search by the city, it doesn’t even show the city listed? If I search a nearby city, I see properties around my area but mine doesn’t show up.
