Local municipality tax remittances with new VRBO?

Thank you. This unfortunately is a significant barrier to adopting VRBO integration, because they currently provide this remittance on our behalf.

​@Brandon Huetteman Hi Brandon, would it be possible for you to publish a list of local jurisdictions where tax remittance is being considered, along with a high-level status for each jurisdiction? This new VRBO integration brings increased costs for hosts, and for those of us that are in a jurisdiction where you're not remitting local taxes (but VRBO does), this cost increase is paired with a service reduction. I completely understand that status and timing is subject to change, but an increase in transparency is something that I'm sure your customers would appreciate. Unfortunately, saying things like “as quickly as possible” and “While I do not have an exact timeline on when that will occur, the local taxes are the main priority for registrations” doesn't help us as hosts understand the status of this critical service. I would imagine there may be some jurisdictions that have closed the door on Hospitable remitting, others that are progressing well, some that are stalled, and perhaps others that you're not even considering — understanding which jurisdictions fall into each category would be helpful in setting expectations.

Is Sevier County TN covered in the jurisdiction?  WIll Hospitable collect and remit taxes?

I am sorry it took so long to respond as I was out of office as soon as this was posted! At the moment, we have an internal dashboard that we use to review the volume of both VRBO and Direct bookings, the number of reservations, and the current status. I wish it could be easier to provide a list of the ones we are working on and the timeline, however - being completely transparent - I could be working on a location that takes one hour versus another that has been 6 months in process. 

Going forward and hopefully to help provide context, we are going to provide an update on:

• New registrations and tax remittance jurisdictions
• Our ‘up-next’ group of jurisdictions that we will be working to tackle
• Our ‘need some assistance’ jurisdictions (ones that are a bit stalled and hoping local support may bump the ability to register)
• Our ‘Hospitable was told no’ jurisdictions (pretty flat out, we were told we cannot remit)

I think with this information, you will be able to better understand how our process is working and where status is. I wish it was as easy to simply snap my fingers for us to be able to remit in every jurisdiction, and it is our goal to be able to remit in as many locations for our customers as possible.

​@glen Hospitable remits the following taxes in TN, which appears to cover your specific location - just depends on the tax type:

• State Sales Tax
• Local Sales Tax
• Local Occupancy Tax

When will the complete functionality for VRBO tax remittances via hospitable be available? Should we count on this for 2026?

By the way, my proprietors are in Texas.
