Hi Marina;  Re-posting from last week, didn’t hear back.

In regards to step 3 after the integration, the credit card part is confusing to me.  Can you clarify or show what the new SOP would look like once a booking is made (as it relates to being charged on a credit card #) to then receiving payment from Hospitable to then what Vrbo will be sending out as an invoice and when?

Please clarify for me:

Is it that Vrbo will need a credit card in order to charge the 5% commission for the new booking or is it charged at the time of payout?  (that is thousands of dollars potentially being charged on a credit card).

And what do you mean by Vrbo will be sending an invoice out once a month?  Is this for the payouts from the month prior?  Or from the new reservations collected from the month prior?

Thanks for clarifying-

-Jen

Hiii,

Vrbo bills your credit card on the 2nd of each month with the 5% commission related to the completed bookings that happened in the previous month. Vrbo sends you the invoice but you don't need to take action, it automatically bills your credit card.

Let me know if it's still confusing, happy to clarify until it is crystal clear!

Since Hospitable is becoming the merchant of record, is it possible for VRBO payments to be split to go to both cohost and owner accounts based on the commission structure like Airbnb?

Could this be included in the future if not? This could get around VRBO not providing it and be a big enhancement for cohosts.

Vrbo connection with chrome extension hasn’t worked for me for almost a month. Even before that it was spotty. Paying for priority support hasn’t gotten me anywhere and I was told the official integration was rolling out on March 31 by YOUR chatbot (which costs extra to even have the ability to interact with). Looks like it’s April 1 now and the chrome extension is still broken and the official integration is seemingly nowhere to be found. Can we can an eta on when this will actually be available or if the chrome extension will be fixed if not? Thanks

In the same boat. It’s pretty annoying.

Pretty crazy to see but fairly in-line with their model of advertising capabilities they do not have and promising things they can’t deliver on. I wonder how many people pay for the “premium” customer support on top of mogul only to get zero accountability or support from them beyond a chatbot experience and token platitudes. I don’t see them being around in a year with these kind of operations. Legitimately lost thousands in revenue so far by using this platform and expecting it to work.

One of the benefits of PMS integration w/ VRBO is that when payment is collected it should go directly to the property manager when it’s collected. If a booking is say, 6 months out in a trust-accounting required state, the PM can then place those funds in an interest bearing account and earn interest ahead of the stay. This can be significant if you have many properties in your portfolio.

Are you saying that Hospitable is holding onto all the funds until check-in?

100%!

I, too, am super bummed to find this out.

I think they should absolutely rethink this strategy for clients on the mogul plan….or they may just lose them!

If they are building mogul for property managers, then they have to build mogul for property managers...if that makes sense!

I believe this is already possible for our Mogul users :)

Curious to understand further how the current chrome extension has been broken. We released a major improvement to it yesterday. Try it out and let me know.

We have 15 users onboarded to the new Vrbo and we are sending out a survey early next week to understand the best migration plan for each of our hosts. I understand the frustration, but also please understand this is for your own good. A new integration as awesome as it is is still early in development and can come with many hiccups that can disturb operations. It would be irresponsible to roll it out to everyone before making sure it has been properly tested not just by our development team but by a good number of hosts as well.

As I’ve explained to “support” the chrome connection says connected and yet does not sync the properties. In fact it doesn’t even register all of them as having vrbo listings and it does not allow price push. It changed my nightly rates on all properties to $9,999 without my knowledge, completely bypassing PriceLabs push and I stopped receiving Vrbo bookings because of this. Now messaging doesn’t work from Hospitable to Vrbo either. When is the official integration actually coming? We’re 3 days past the release date now and I’d like an update. Thanks
