I still rather routinely have alteration request errors. For example, a recent guest is trying to alter the reservation from one guest to three guests, and the Airbnb platform is saying this will result in $111 decrease in the price of the reservation. There is nothing in our policies about this at all, and it makes no sense. I have two different reservations that are having issues like this. Anyone else?

This is a known issue and I have reported it. My account has an open ticket about it but I think it’s important to pause the ability to make an alteration in HSPTB so hosts don’t accidentally use this and lose money.

Here’s exactly what is happening @Joseph Coker

There are outstanding problems with the alterations done on Hospitable. I recently had one instance where I did the alteration in Hospitable so that I would have essentially the same payout (just a difference of shifting the reservation by a day) but it ended up costing me a few hundred dollars in revenue. The message I received was to make all alterations directly on the OTA and not on Hospitable for now.

Just to double-check, @Joseph Coker, are you referring to Airbnb alterations within Airbnb itself, or through Hospitable?

Also, it would be great if we could see on each alteration not only what we will earn, but also how much more/less the guest has to pay.

I send a custom offer of 20% off for 1 day gap nights and tell the guests the price for that, but then when anyone takes me up on it and I have to submit the alteration, it ends up being a higher math problem to actually hit that amount considering the interface is only showing me MY additional revenue and taxes and platform fee’s are not visible.

@Petra Podobnik Wondering if this has any new updates. It’s been “fixed” and then seems to still be occurring, forcing me to only do alterations via Airbnb directly should I not want any price changes.

@Joseph Coker @doreen are you seeing this still too?
