I’m co-hosting a new property that will be putting exterior cameras up soon. How can I let upcoming bookings know? I will go in and add cameras to the listing, but wondered how to tell guests.  Thanks!

Hi @Teeracey - the hosts in the Community might want to chime in here (maybe another good one for @Zoey Berghoff to chime in on - sorry for pinging you twice in one day) but a couple of ideas might be:

  • Automate a message new bookings
    • Add one sentence to your After a new reservation or Before check-in messaging rule
  • Optional, but helpful
    • Add the note to your check-in instructions and Knowledge Hub, and your rental agreement if you use one

Hi @Teeracey,

Here are a few simple steps you can take:.

  1. For guests who have already booked, you can send a bulk message through Hospitable. To do this, create a new Canned Response explaining the update. Then, you can select all your upcoming guests in the Inbox and send them the message at once. Here is the full guide: Mass message multiple guests at the same time from the inbox. But if have too many guests then maybe slow and steady option is better. Here’s a template

    Hi %guest_first_name%,

We're looking forward to your upcoming stay at y%listing_name%]. We wanted to give you a quick update that for enhanced security, we have recently installed cameras on the exterior of the property.

Please be assured that these are for outdoor monitoring only, and there are absolutely no cameras inside the home. Your privacy is extremely important to us.

Let us know if you have any questions. We can't wait to host you!

    Best,
    %host_first_name%

  2. I would also suggest adding a sentence about the external security cameras to your check-in automation rules for all future stays.

Since the cameras are external, most guests will be okay with it, especially since you're being proactive and transparent.

 Hope this helps
