Hi everyone. just wanted to share something that’s been working surprisingly well in my Airbnb. I added a digital guest kiosk in the unit a few months ago—basically a sleek little station that sells things guests often forget (toiletries, towels, pain meds chargers, snacks, etc.)

It’s free to set up, I choose what’s stocked, and I keep all the revenue. I’ve also added a QR code to my direct booking site on the kiosk, which has already led to a couple return guests booking directly with me.

Didn’t expect it to be such a hit, but guests mention it in reviews and it’s been a nice passive income boost. If anyone’s curious, happy to share what I’m using.

fair enough!

It’s called VendiSmart. I found it a few months ago via Google search and it’s been a great little add-on. Totally free to set up, and I just choose what I want to offer. Guests pay through the screen, and I get payouts weekly.

Here’s the site if anyone wants to check it out: vendismart.com/forbusiness

Happy to answer anything about how it’s worked in my space & my top sellers.

@levi Hey levi! I wanted to ask what did you mean its free to set up? i checked their website and it said 300-350 USD. Can you elaborate more?

@parviz You might be looking at their home page. (vendismart.com) is actually built for advertisers, since the company’s core business is placing smart kiosks in short-term rentals to promote products & brands. That’s why it talks pricing, but the kiosk is free for hosts like us.

There’s a separate page: vendismart.com/forbusiness or scroll down till you see partnerships.
From there, you can sign up to get the kiosk placed in your Airbnb for free. I handle my own inventory, so I choose what’s stocked based on what guests actually need (snacks, chargers, pain meds, etc.), and I keep 100% of the revenue from anything that sells.

Hit send too soon LOL. I was saying it's weird that their website has no pictures of their product. It seems like a huge full sized vending machine. Great for hotel lobbies but not something that can sit next to the Keurig? 🤪

@Tom Beerley fair point. it’s definitely big like a full-size fridge so definitely not ideal for smaller rentals. it’s designed for 2–3 bedroom homes where there’s space inside and outside and guest volume to make it worthwhile.

I’ve got one placed outside our guest guest house, and it fits well on the patio. Kind of like a modern amenity station. I’ll drop a photo so you can see what it actually looks like.

What a great idea!

What would be a cool business idea is if someone made a counter top version of this for apartments! I would totally get this.

@levi  Thanks for sharing. Pretty clever source of income! How’s the maintenance of it?  Also, is there an option to accept credit cards? I only see bills and coins from the picture.

@Ivan - Vacay Vibes Getaways Thanks Ivan! It is pretty low maintenance. They monitor the unit remotely & push updates when needed, so I rarely have to touch it, just restock it with my product & set my prices. And yes, it does accept credit cards. It comes with a NAYAX card reader, but that part is installed separately. The photo was taken before our advisor mounted it. It is all set up now and works very well. The only challenge is knowing what your guests want & setting those prices high or low enough to justify the convenience. Snacks, drinks & toiletries work very well. They are based in Phoenix, AZ fyi

That is pretty cool. If I had an office or lobby area...I would put that in.
