Hello

I am struggling with what direction to take with Vrbo to eliminate a Charge back and Damages.

I have always trusted the guest (8 yrs) up until recently.

Do I require a security deposit? Rental Agreement or require them to purchase Insurance.

Do they shy away from booking for these reasons?

Looking for options that have worked best for others.

Thank You

Hey Errin!

Great question and I was here recently.

What I do is require that all my VRBO guest purchase the damage insurance ( pick the one that you prefer), I believe I have the $60 or so option selected. This is a must because VRBO doesn't cover damage if no protection is purchased.

Outside of this I recently started implementing the Rental Agreement and Deposits via Hospitable but only for Direct bookings and Booking .com host as a safety measure and protection.

Hope this helps
