@Aryeh Raber I know this may sound counterintuitive to the term “upsell” but it’s not giving me the option to add a product for $0. I am wanting to use a partner company for baby rental equipment, so it send guests through an affiliate link rather than purchasing directly from me. Is there a fix for this?

@Jilly  That's correct, we don't currently support $0 upsells, and either way, I don't think that's the full story in your case as you'd probably want to auto-trigger a message to the guest based on that specific upsell purchase — which is also not supported yet. Both of these features are on our roadmap but there’s no timeline I can share at this time.

You may want to add the affiliate link to one of your messaging rules, though then it will of course send out to all reservations that match that rule, which may not be what you want.

@Aryeh Raber Thank you for the response! I also ran into another snag. I offer private wine tours. There’s one price for up to 6 people and one price for up to 11 people. Instead of making two separate listings, it would be nice if there was one listing with an option of multiple prices/options. I’m probably not the only host who has same service/product with different pricing for that service/product (depending on number of people or length of time involved). ;-) For example, Host Co allows you to add multiple prices with labels for each price option.

Thanks for the additional feedback @Jilly, makes sense and I've taken note of this feature request 👍

I encourage you to also add this (and other ideas) to https://feedback.hospitable.com to allow others to upvote it too (plus you’ll be notified on updates)!

@Aryeh Raber Do you have it on the roadmap to fix the listings so that the description is not one big/long paragraph? I created paragraphs in the listing creation, but when I look at it in the guest portal it’s all one big paragraph (which looks jumbled and unprofessional).

@Jilly Thanks for the bug report, just merging a fix for that now which should roll out in the next ~30 min.

  1. Mandatory that early checkin / late checkout is approvable - will mitigate any problems
  2. Ideally can be routed to cleaner or other teammate to approve
  3. Need to be able to offer $0 for up to 1 hour before checkin. This is a nice courtesy that builds goodwill people can add on - right now this isn’t possible
  4. One really cool feature that Happy Guest offers is to generate a QR code that the cleaner can scan when the unit is ready, that generates a message to the guest saying that the unit is ready for checkin, and they can pay at that time. So imagine the cleaner scans the code and marks unit as ready, then hospitable shoots out a message letting guest know and they can buy right then and there.

Yes, I love all these things.  I currently have a auto message that goes out a few days before if there are gap nights before/after that says we may be able to offer early check in or late check out if these dates don’t book.  I ask them to let me know if they are interested and tell them that I offer the first hour at $0 and each out after that is either $25/hour or $50/hour depending on the ADR and size of the home.  And I love the idea of a QR code being scanned and a message going out to the guest that the house is ready for check in and the guest can buy early check in accordingly.

@anthonyrallo Thanks for the additional feedback!

It’s currently not possible to deep link to a product in a generic/static way, because each reservation has a unique Guest Portal link — unless your web-based guidebook can handle dynamic links in some way (the reservation uuid changes, the product uuid stays the same)?

We’ve taken note of this request but I recommend also adding this to https://feedback.hospitable.com to allow others to upvote it too!

I’d like to figure out if there’s a way for this. Our guide is just a website so any guidance on a dynamic link insertion would be welcomed @Aryeh Raber

@anthonyrallo I'm honestly not too sure, as it will highly depend on how you manage your website, what you're able to do/change dynamically, and how guests receive their guidebook link.

Having said that, to be more specific about my previous reply, the Guest Portal link is constructed in the following way:

https://stay.hospitable.com/<reservation-uuid>/upgrade/<product-uuid>
(or if you’re using a custom domain, that would replace the stay.hospitable.com portion)

Potentially there's something custom that you can build around our public API, to fetch Reservation UUIDs via the API and then generate custom guidebook links for individual guests.

We hope to build a seamless solution for this in the future, so that a generic link can lead guests to the right place, but I can’t promise any timelines at the moment.

@anthonyrallo I just posted a new topic for Static Guest Portal Links to get a dedicated conversation going to gather more feedback & ideas:
