We’re starting with cleaning services powered by Cleanster. Because let’s be honest, cleaning is the hardest part of STR operations to scale.

On the latest Hospitable podcast, our CEO Pierre-Camille Hamana sits down with Derrick A. (Cleanster co-founder/CFO) to share what this unlocks:

✨ Keep your trusted pros and tap into a vetted network of 150k+ cleaners

📸 Real accountability: door photos, before/after media, checklists, issue tracking

🛠️ Automation: guest-reported issues roll into the next turnover checklist

🔑 Seamless access: smart-lock codes and cleaner comms all in one place

💸 Expense and tip management synced with Hospitable accounting and owner statements

Catch the full episode with PC and Derrick for the behind-the-scenes on how this changes STR ops.

As a pro user who spends a lot of time paying my cleaners manually, if this eventually allows me to pay them automatically and quickly essentially replacing Turno, I would be willing to upgrade to Mogul.

@The Orange Cabins: once you’ve tested out the new feature, let us know how it works for you. 💜

I’d have to wait till you roll this out to pay my own cleaners.

This is the way. Allowing our EXISTING cleaners access will be very helpful.

We spend a lot of resources onboarding/QCing our cleaning teams and have robust documentation for cleaning/staging through a homebuilt digital guide. We require  videos post each clean and have WhatsApp channels built for each of our properties/teams to allow for flexible communication (meaning cross-platform & multi-media) to ensure consistent and documentable responses.

Having a comm channel that has this type of functionality would be essential for us to consider using.

We are currently legacy but been a fan of mogul offerings like branding but don’t know that the “juice is worth the squeeze yet” even though we have 7 properties we own/manage.

Does this mean cleanster is being offered for free to hospitable users, or does this mean it's being built into Hospitable, or do we still have to pay for the app? I'm still unable to even use the new cleaning feature, and I'm on the highest-priced plan. I would definitely feel more comfortable using one app. I am generally confused what this means.

For those of us too late to watch a video, when is this “marketplace” rolling out and to whom?

Hello everyone!

We had to cancel today’s Power-Up Workshop, but we’ll be back on track in two weeks. Thanks for your understanding.

Regarding the Marketplace launch: the part that went live last week is Autopilot Cleanings, powered by our Cleanster marketplace integration. It’s already up and running, though you’ll find it only when setting up a task rule for Autopilot Cleaning (create a “Cleaning” task rule > Autopilot). Currently available in the United States.

More info available here: https://help.hospitable.com/en/articles/12111866-autopilot-cleanings

P.S. Alan shares Product Updates every week, which is also a great place to check the status of newly launched features. :)

Hey @bradianna

Cleanster is built into Hospitable as an “Autopilot” option. You do not need to install a separate app, nor pay Cleanster subscription for this flow.

You pay per cleaning at marketplace rates. Pricing is based mainly on estimated task time, with adjustments for beds/baths and whether you provide supplies.

When any Marketplace task is completed, we debit the host’s Marketplace balance account for the entire amount of the cleaning, and split the payment between Cleanster (cleaner fee and commission) and Hospitable (commission).

I hope this helps! :)

I have a lot of confusion around how to use this cleanster option. How do you set it up? Once I select it in the market place does it populate on my dashboard? ...cause it did not. How do I find cleaners, literally all the things. I am located outside of Nashville. Not sure if that helps. Anything to get this off the ground for me is helpful..

What is the commission for the cleaner? The payer?  That is not clear in this discussion - thanks!

Hi @ashley! Here is more information, I hope this will be helpful.

I saw you set up the Autopilot cleaning for one of your properties, it looks good! The future reservations will generate Marketplace cleaning jobs automatically at the configured trigger (and we will automatically select the most qualified cleaner for you).

Where it appears

  • Tasks: The job will show in the property’s Tasks list as soon as it’s created. When a cleaner accepts, you’ll see the assignment there.
  • Payments: After acceptance, you’ll see a pending bank draft line under Settings → Marketplace → Payment history.

If nothing shows up, check these

  • Wrong scope: Confirm the rule is saved on the correct property and is active for your booking platforms.
  • No turnover yet: Autopilot won’t create anything until there’s a reservation event.
  • Job created, but you’re looking in the wrong place: Check the property’s Tasks list and Settings → Marketplace → Payment history for the journal entry when a cleaner accepts.

Good to know

  • After you switch a Cleaning task rule to Marketplace Autopilot, it will generate Marketplace jobs for new turnover events going forward. Existing bookings won’t be auto-converted.

We’re working on improving our documentation, as we realized it’s not very clear for hosts how Autopilot works.

Hi @Imarriedthepiper! The information I have found is that we debit the host’s Marketplace balance account for the entire amount of the cleaning, and split the payment between Cleanster (cleaner fee and commission) and Hospitable (commission).
