Direct Booking & Guest Experience

Q: What options are available for guests who want to purchase trip insurance when booking direct?
A: Not yet available, but this is a planned feature, targeted for release by the end of 2025 so guests can buy insurance during checkout.

Q: Why is guest verification required for returning guests?
A: Because Hospitable acts as the merchant of record for Direct Premium. Verification prevents fraud and keeps sensitive info secure. The team is exploring ways to skip verification for returning guests in the future.

Q: Is there a way to turn off guest verification in the Guest Portal?
A: For Direct Premium, it’s required and can’t be turned off. For other channels, it’s optional and can be requested manually. It ensures accurate guest details and reduces friction.

Q: How can Direct or manual booking guests leave reviews?
A: Direct guests receive an automatic post-checkout email inviting them to review via the Guest Portal. Manual bookings can’t be reviewed yet, but the team is collecting feedback on this.

AI & Copilot

Q: I used the AI tool to update my listing. It performed great for a week, then slowed down. Should I keep rewriting it?
A: Probably not! The boost likely came from a temporary algorithm test. Focus on conversion quality (clicks → bookings). You can revisit the listing optimization webinar for more insights.

Q: What AI tool was mentioned?
A: That’s Copilot AI, Hospitable’s built-in assistant that helps you rewrite listings, craft guest messages, and automate repetitive tasks.

Q: Can you explain more about the “smart AI agent” mentioned during the Town Hall?
A: That refers to an upcoming advanced AI feature currently in development — more details will be shared in future updates.

Integrations & Channels

Q: Is there an integration with ReiHub accounting?
A: Not at this time, it hasn’t been announced as part of the roadmap yet.

Q: When will Hospitable integrate with Expedia?
A: Vrbo (an Expedia brand) is already supported. Full Expedia integration isn’t available yet, and there’s no public timeline.

Q: I thought Hospitable was already integrated with Vrbo?
A: Yes, you can connect Vrbo now through Hospitable’s native integration.

Q: Do you have a potential timeline for full Vrbo integration?
A: Nothing official to announce, but it’s actively being developed.

Q: You said you can connect to any channel with iCal. How does that work?
A: You can use iCal links to sync availability with platforms that aren’t directly integrated. Only direct integrations allow full automation (like messaging and booking management).

Automation, Tasks & Messaging

Q: Can you put instructions on how to turn off guest verification?
A: It’s not currently possible to disable it for Direct Premium. The product team is aware of the request and may offer more flexibility in the future.

Q: What’s the best way to automate check-in details and guest forms?
A: Use Guest Portal tasks; they simplify check-in, collect accurate guest info, and reduce errors with messaging automations. Pair it with messaging rules so links and reminders go out automatically at the right times. 

Roadmap & Miscellaneous

Q: What’s next for Direct and Guest Portal features?
A: The team is prioritizing guest verification flexibility, trip insurance, and easier review collection, all actively in progress.

Q: Any broader platform goals?
A: Ongoing improvements to AI features, Direct booking flows, and channel integrations. More updates will follow in the next Town Hall.
