Been playing with the Hospitable MCP connection for a few weeks and finally used it for something real, so figured I'd share what came out of it plus a couple of gotchas.
Context: we manage 35+ cabins in Lake Arrowhead. Five of them went live between late May and mid August. I wanted a straight answer on how those launches actually did. Normally that means exporting reservations, exporting reviews, lining them up by hand. I've done it that way and it eats an afternoon, and I usually get a date wrong somewhere in the middle.
This time I just asked Claude, connected to Hospitable over MCP. It read the reservation and review records directly. No export, no CSV.
What came back across the five:
- 44 confirmed reservations, 120 nights
- 25 guest reviews, all 25 are 5 stars
- longest wait from a listing going live to its first booking was 6 days
- two of the five booked the same day the listing went public
- one property, brand new permit, never rented in its life, had a public 5 star review 3 days after going live
The days-to-first-booking and days-to-first-review numbers are the ones I got the most out of, and they're also exactly the numbers I'd never bother working out by hand. Once the reservations and the reviews are in the same place it's nothing. Sitting there with two exports open, it's not nothing.
