Used Claude and MCP connection to create custom guidebooks

I did something similar, but since mine includes wifi passwords, lock codes, etc - i use the reservation id from hospitable as a ‘key’ to protect access to the guidebook. In a hospitable message, the guest gets a message like:

Access your guidebook below:
 

https://guidebook.mysite.com/res?=%reservation_id%

That way, they can only access the guidebook from the link in hospitable. Bonus points, the first place they land is a ‘plug in your email to get 5% off your next stay’, which lets us market to them in the future. 

Hey Anthony, could you do something like that for one of my properties?  I created a Google sites website for a guidebook, but I don’t love how it turned out.  I email my guests a link before their stay.  Curious if you’d be willing to set me up and what you’d charge.

Guide looks great! How is everyone hosting these links? I have my direct site with Hospitable and they don’t have an option to add custom docs inside, I would love to have it on the site but wondering what everyone else is doing?

Brilliant! The guest doesn’t enter the reservation ID right? How does the link get customized and populate with guest specific codes etc? We host on squarespace. 

Smart! I am curious that were do you host your website and guidebook? Also, how do you validate reservation_id with hospitable to give the access?

I host it all on Cloudflare. Their ‘free’ tier is more than enough to host guides for properties. 
 

The guests dont have to type anything in, I use a hospitable smart code to build their URL (%reservation_code%) So the URL in my message to them looks like this:

https://guide.mysite.com/go?res_id=%reservation_code%

They click the link, and the site in Cloudflare only lets them in if its a valid reservation id. 

That’s a great use of the Hospitable MCP server, Anthony. 

What I like about it is that the guidebooks are being generated from information dynamically kept current in Hospitable: listing details, knowledge base content, and property photos. The hardest part with guidebooks is usually the maintenance of 20+ versions while actually being a host too!

We found the same challenge for hosts at Yada, which is why we include free digital guidebooks in the platform, along with a chat widget/guest portal for your direct booking site.

With the MCP version, I’m wondering about maintenance. Once the first version is created, how do you keep each guidebook current when listing details, house rules, amenities, or local recommendations change? Thanks for sharing!

Do you send these through the OTA platform? The first pop up saying ‘15% off your next stay when you book direct’ feels like you’d get flagged for violating TOS?

Love this, mobile could use a little tidy up on menu and some overlay but really love the concept, might try it myself. 

I’ve been working on something similar but requires rez code, to prevent free visitors. Imagine a theme park map of the attractions in the area with a dot for your specific property and any unique accesses the property might offer.
