I have my cleaners information in the system, but they are not getting the check in and checkout notifications. How do I fix this?

Hi @Marcus G, thanks for reaching out.

Let’s quickly check the most common causes and fixes.

  • Teammate setup
    • Make sure each cleaner is added as a teammate (not primary/secondary host) and their contact method(s) (email and/or mobile) are on their teammate profile
    • Confirm teammate is active (not deleted) and scoped to the correct property and team
  • Notification rule scoping
    • Operations > Notification rules: confirm the rule is active (toggle on)
    • Rule must be scoped to the same property and team as the teammate (both are required)
    • Rule type: use a Schedule reminder (Before check-in or Before check-out) or Event notification if applicable
  • Delivery checks
    • If the teammate has both email and phone, Hospitable will send both. If only one method exists, we send via the available method
    • Check Operations > Log to see whether the teammate notifications were created and whether they were sent or bounced (https://my.hospitable.com/operations/log)
    • If you see bounces or failures, the teammate email/phone may be invalid or blocked

Also, we have task reminders that are sent 24 hours before the task start time, and are sent to the assigned teammate. More about this here:

Let me know if this is helpful. 💜

@Marcus G - We’ve found that it’s helpful to setup aliases in your email system (if you can) that automatically redirect to your cleaner. This allows us to see any (email) messaging that is sent to our cleaning teams. Helpful when they say “i didn’t get that update” and we can show them the screenshot of the email…

While it may be overkill, they should get app notifications, emails & sms (plus a daily summary email with the week ahead).
